Mario Costello won the Sunday competition with 40 points. Michael Healy was in second place with 39 points (back 9). Alan Craven won the gross prize with 35 points and Colman Hanley was in third place with 39 points also. Thanks to all who supported the fundraising 3-person scramble, sponsored by the Abbey Hotel on Saturday, which will help cover the team expenses for the Ladies Senior Foursomes Team competing in the All Ireland Finals in Cork on Thursday. The winners were Ken Kearney, Dan O’Brien and Albert Looby with 57 and Barry Garvin, Ronan Healy and Johnny Coyne were in second place with 58. The good wishes of all the members are with the ladies that they will win their semi-final match on Thursday and be crowned All Ireland champions on Friday. Members are encouraged to travel to Monkstown Golf Course in Cork to support the team.

Tom Reddington won the Open Friday competition with 40 points.The winner of the ladies Tuesday competition was Jackie Maxwell with 42 points. Serena O’Farrell was in second place with 41 points and Sinead Benedetti was in third place with 40 points. Annie Timothy won the 9 hole competition on Sunday 14th with 21 points (back 6). Mary O’Gara was in second place with 21 points also. The winner of the Over 55s competition on Thursday was Benny Mulherne. Ollie Hannon was in second place and Gerry Mahon was in third place. Kate Walshe won the ladies’ competition. Marguerite Farrell was in second place and Margaret Brennan was in third place. The men’s Over 55s Christmas Hamper competition will take place on the 2nd October with the ladies’ competition on the 9th. Next Friday will be the last Open Day of the year. The golfing year is drawing to a close and the AGM will take place on Sunday 19th October.
