The winner of the men’s Sunday competition, sponsored by Hannon’s Hotel, was John Walker with 41 points. Tom Judge was in second place with 40 points. Brian Feeley won the gross prize with 34 points and Anthony Duignan was in third place with 39 points. The winner of the ladies’ Masters Competition on Saturday was Joan Moran with a great score of 69 nett. Carmel Walker was in second place with 72 nett and Sandra Kelly was in third place with 73 nett. Michael and Kevin Connaughton (playing off adult handicap) and John and Niamh Lennon (playing off junior handicap) were the winners of the Parent  & Child competiton, sponsored by the MacGuigan Family.  The top three ladies in the Tuesday competition, sponsored by Siobhan Cox Carlos, had 39 points and had to be separated on the count-back. The winner was Mary Gilligan. Linda Maxwell was in second place and Paula Connaughton was in third place. The Over 55s had a most enjoyable outing to Bundoran, organised by Jim Finn in his customary efficient manner. The overall winner of the men’s competition was Charlie Brennan and Margaret Brennan won the ladies’ competition. The winner of the usual Over 55s competition  on Thursday was Michael Dolan. Ollie Dempsey was in second place and Tom Costello was in third place. Marguerite Farrell won the ladies’ competition. Mary O’Keeffe was in second place and Kate Walshe was in third place.

Fundraising events for the ladies’ Senior Foursomes Team competing in the All Ireland Finals in Cork are progressing well. Thanks to all who supported the Table Quiz last Saturday night. On next Saturday there will be an 18 hole three-person scramble from 11 am onwards and the timesheet is in the clubhouse. The entry fee is €10 per person and all members are encouraged to participate in this fun event as an indication of their support for our Connaught Champions.
