The winner of the Sunday competition was Seamus Kenny with 40 points. In second place was David Hill with 38 points (back 6) and Michael Healy was in third place with 38 points also. The Category A winner in the ladies’ Tuesday competition, sponsored by Satara Ladies Boutique, was Rosemary  O’Brien with 37 points. The Category B winner was Noreen O’Grady with 35 points and Fen Thompson was the Category C winner with 33 points. Enda Daly won the Open Friday competition with 42 points. Kevin Connaughton was in second place with 41 points.  Mary Gilligan won the ladies’ Open Friday competition with 33 points. Charlie McDonnell won the Over 55s competition on Thursday. Ollie Dempsey was in second place and Jim Finn was in third place. Noreen O’Grady won the ladies’ competition. Mary Pender was in second place and Aileen McConn was in third place.  Congratulations to Carmel Walker and Marguerite Farrell winners of the Curran Cup.

Well done to the ladies’ Senior Foursomes team who beat Castlebar in Athenry on Sunday and are through to the final in Athlone on the 29^th August.  Hard luck to our Junior Cup team and our Pierce Purcell team who both lost out in their Connaught semi-final matches in Strandhill on Saturday.  Roscommon lost the deciding match in the Pierce Purcell competition to Enniscrone on the 22^nd hole. Enniscrone went on to beat Castlebar 4 to 1 in the final on Sunday. Congratulations to Roisin Timothy, Roisin O’Brien and Chloe O’Connor who were selected on the Connaught Interprovincial U-18 team to play in Donnaghadee on the 20^th August.

We extend a warm welcome to all the Connaught Ladies Past Captains who will compete in Roscommon on Thursday. The Centenary Cup, sponsored by the Neilan Family, which was originally scheduled for last Sunday, was rescheduled due to the inter-club commitments and will be played on this Saturday 16th August. Open week starts on Sunday with the Husband & Wife/Mixed Foursomes competition sponsored by Molloy’s Home Bakery.
