Open week began in glorious sunshine which lasted for the first three days and with the course in shipshape the entries were high and the scoring exceptional.  While the weather wasn’t as good as early in the week it was still relatively good golfing weather and overall it was a very successful open week for the club. On Friday evening Captain Albert Looby made a special presentation from the club to Allan Hill to mark his achievement in winning the  Munster Open Boys U-15 championship. Smithwick’s Cup, sponsored by Keen Print, and the Club Fourball, sponsored by Seamus O’Reilly Plumbing, took place on Sunday night. The next major club event is Lady Captain Bernie Browne’s Prize to the ladies which takes place on Tuesday 15^th July and Saturday 19^th July.
