The presentation of prizes on Sunday night brought the August Open Week to an end and it was a successful event with good levels of participation in almost all the competitions. Once again the sponsors came up trumps with fantastic prizes and both Lady Captain Bernie Browne and Captain Albert Looby expressed their appreciation of their constant support and urged members to remember the sponsors when they were doing their business. Declan Molloy of Molloy’s Bakery, one of the longest sponsors of the club, speaking in his role as President of the Chamber of Commerce stated that the golf club was a vital component of the infrastructure of the town and this was appreciated by the businesses of the town.
