On Saturday last there were open competitions for Senior and Junior Scratch Cups. The Senior Cup was won by Liam Casey, with a round of 75 and Tommy Grehan had the best net score, with a round of 74. The Junior Scratch Cup was won by Michael McHale on 77, and the best net prize went to Dan O’Brien with a score of 73.

On Sunday players competed for Intermediate and Minor Scratch Cups. The winner of the Intermediate Scratch Cup was Kevin Connaughton with 81;  2nd, Declan Browne, 82; 1st net, Michael Sharkey, 67; 2nd net, Colm O’Reilly 70; Par 3 winner, Michael Costello. The Minor scratch cup was won by Andy Lawlor with a score of 88; 1st net, Charlie Mc Donnell. The competitions on both days were sponsored by M.J. Farrell Jewellers Roscommon.

The men’s 9-hole Friday competition was won by John Walker with 20 pts. On Monday the men’s open competition was won by Fionn Hoare with 41 pts; 2nd, Thomas Higgins, 40 pts.

The ladies’ competition, which was sponsored by O’Brien’s Mushrooms, was won by Niamh Lennon with a 69; 2nd, Sinead Benedetti, 69; 3rd, Chloe O’Connor, 69.

The ladies’ Friday 9-hole competition was won by Mary Mullen with 18 pts.

The ladies’ open seniors’ results: 1st, Geraldine Hoban, 23 pts; 2nd, Bretta McCarthy, 20 pts.

The men’s open seniors’ results: 1st, John Carter, 37 pts; 2nd, Michael Connaughton, 37 pts; Gross, Noel Farrell, 21 pts.

There is still time to enter a team for the 3 person, 9 and Dine Scramble, which talks place on Friday 23. Shotgun start at 6.30 pm.

Open Week 26th June to the 2nd July. Men’s 18-hole competitions, €15 for visitors. Ladies’ 9-hole competitions, €8 for visitors.
