On Saturday last the final of the President’s (Paula Connaughton) Prize to men took place. Seamus Fallon took on John Walker in the final match play competition. Seamus was the eventual winner, after over overcoming his opponent at a blustery and showery Roscommon Golf Course. Paula Connaughton presented prizes to the winners and runners up of the junior, ladies’ and men’s competitions that evening. Congratulations to Seamus on his win, and to all the prize winners.
The results of the men’s competition last Sunday, sponsored by Lorcan Dowd Sports Therapy: 1st, Liam Casey, 40 pts; 2nd, Gerry Finn, 40 pts; 3rd, Tommy Grehan, 39 pts; Gross, Alan Craven, 37 pts.
The men’s 9-hole competition on Friday was won by Francie Grehan with 22 pts. The men’s weekly (Monday) open competition was won by Fionn Hoare with 40 pts; 2nd, Martin Daly, 40 pts.
The ladies’ 18-hole competition, sponsored by Siobhan Cox Carlos, was won by Olivia Costello with 39 pts. The 9-hole qualifying competition for ladies was won by Geraldine Hoban on 20 pts.
The results of the ladies’ seniors’ competition: 1st, Detta Cox, 2nd, Tresina Smith. The men’s seniors’ was won by Michael Relihan with 35pts. Cat 1, Ollie Dempsey, 34 pts; Cat 2, Tommie Grealy, 35 pts; Cat 3, Michael O’Connor, 33 pts.
The draw for the Mixed Foursomes is on display in the clubhouse foyer, the first round to be completed by 25th June.
