Our Barton Shield team did the club proud in the Qualifying round in Castlebar on Sunday. Only four teams from all over Connacht could qualify for the semi-final match play and our pairings of Alan Craven & Allan Hill and David Hill & Tommy Grehan had the same score as three other teams but lost out on a count-back. Good luck to our Pierce Purcell team who play Athlone in the zone final this Saturday.

This coming weekend is a significant one for the club as the Inaugural Irish Mid- Amateur competition takes place. On Friday participants have a practice day and the competition takes place on Saturday and Sunday morning. There is a men’s fourball,  sponsored by Bryan Keogh, on Sunday after the Mid-Amateur competition.
