The winner of the Centenary Cup Competition, sponsored by the Neilan Family, was Francis Noone with 69 nett. Noel Sharkey was in second place with 71. Mario Costello won the gross prize with 73 gross. Darren Burgoyne was in third place with 71 and James McNally won the junior prize with 70. Ailbhe Farrell won the ladies’ competition, also sponsored by the Neilan Family, with 72 nett and Joan Hannon was in second place with 73. Matt Farrell from Longford was the winner of the Open Friday competition with 31 points. Gerry Keegan won the Open Over 55’s Competition with a fantastic score of 47 points. Joe Rock from Moate was in second place with 31 points. Jackie Maxwell won the ladies’ Over 55’s 9 hole competition with 21 points. Orla Quinn was the winner of the ladies’ White Elephant Competition on Tuesday with 35 points. Bernie Browne was in second place with 33 points and Paula Quinn was in third place with 32 points. The winning team in the Roscommon Gael’s Classic were Pat Gannon, Stephen Bohan, Michael Keville and Tom Gallagher from Carrick on Shannon with 95 points. President Cathal McConn’s Competition is progressing well and the numbers left standing is diminishing rapidly. The final will take place on the 26th September.
