The winners of the Husband & Wife, sponsored by Molloy’s Home Bakery, were Margaret and Charlie Brennan with 70.5 nett. Mary and Michael Lennon were in second place with 71 and Mary and John Cunningham were in third place with 71.5. Mary Lalor and Peter Brady won the Mixed Competition, also sponsored by Molloy’s Home Bakery, with 70 nett and Paula Quinn and Phelim Henry were in second place with 74. Ruairi Smith from Athlone won the Open Friday Competition with 37 points. Sandra Kelly won the Tuesday competition, sponsored by Molloy’s Lifestyle Pharmacy, with 72 nett (back 9) and Marguerite Farrell was in second place with 72 also. John Martin won the Over 55’s on Thursday. Pat McDonough was in second place and Michael Brennan was in third place. Mary Cunningham won the ladies’ competition and Mary Jo O’Riordan was in second place. Marguerite Farrell was in third place and Joan Moran was in fourth place.

Congratulations to the Mary McKenna Diamond Trophy team who defeated Galway Golf Club last week and are Regional Champions. They will represent the Western Region in the All Ireland Semi Final which takes place in Woodenbridge Golf Club, Co. Wicklow, on Saturday 12^th September and hopefully in the All Ireland Final on Sunday 13^th September.
