The winner of the Sunday competition, sponsored by Roscommon Tile Centre, was Conor Merriman with 42 points (back 9). In second place was Michael Keane with 42 points also. Harry Casey was in third place with 41 points. Mario Costello won the gross prize with 34 points.  Aileen O’Gara won the ladies’ 9 hole competition with 19 points. David Flynn won the Open Friday competition with 39 points and John Connaughton was in second place with 38 points. Gertie Spillane won the ladies’ Open Friday competition with 34 points. Annie Timothy won the ladies’ Tuesday competition, sponsored by Bernard Keane Supermarkets, with 69 nett. Joan Hannon was in second place with 70 nett. Geraldine Relihan won the gross prize with 58 gross and June Halliday was in third place with 71 nett. Vincent Pierse won the Over 55’s competition on Thursday. Gerry Mahon was in second place and Charlie McDonnell was in third place. Geraldine Hoban won the ladies’ competition and Siobhan Cox Carlos was in second place. Bretta McCarty was in third place and Theresa Browne was in fourth place. Congratulation to Peter Geraghty and Andrew Prior who won the Club Fourball Competition and hard luck to the runners-up Charlie Farrell and Paul Hoare.  Our Senior Cup team defeated Galway Golf Club in the semi-final in Sligo Golf Club but lost out to Athlone in the final. Good luck to our Ladies Junior Foursomes Team who meet Ballinasloe in Mountbellew on Saturday and to the Ladies Meile Fourball team who are up against Tuam Golf Club on Sunday.
