We had another wonderful day of golf at the Slieve Russell golf course when our ladies senior foursomes team took part in the Golf Ireland All-Ireland matchplay tournament last Saturday. First we played Royal Tara, Co. Meath in the quarter final and we had a wonderful win with the final match finishing on the 19th hole. Next up was Malone golf club, Belfast in the semi-final on Saturday afternoon. Everyone gave their best and played great golf. Once again it came down to the final match which finished on the 20th hole. A great performance by Anne Quirke, Olivia Costello, Sinead Benedetti, Leah Lennon, Blaithin O’Brien and Anna Higgins but unfortunately we did not get the right outcome. We would like to thank the ladies senior foursomes panel, manager Rosemary O’Brien for all your time and effort during the last few months.

We are a very lucky club to have such the calibre of players in both ladies and men that can compete with the very best players in Ireland on the national stage.

Thanks to everyone involved with the teams that took part in both Tramore and Slieve Russell and for giving our club such great events to attend and watch brilliant golf. It is a great achievement to have had three different teams competing at the All-Ireland’s and everyone in the club is very proud of you all.
