County Cup: This Saturday the annual Roscommon County Cup competition for ladies will take place. Clubs taking part include Roscommon, Castlerea, Boyle, Ballaghaderreen, Athlone, Strokestown and Carrick on Shannon, The Roscommon team captain is Kate Walshe.
Olivia Costello: Olivia plays in the World Junior Girls Championships (U-18) this week in Ontario Canada. There is an individual and team competition. Ireland have three players on the team: Olivia, Ella Cantwell and Hannah Lee McNamara. The action starts on Thursday 30th September. Good luck to all.
Presentation night: The Men’s Committee are holding a presentation night in the clubhouse on this coming Saturday at 7.30pm sharp. All outstanding prizes will be presented on the night and that will include the Jack Halliday Cup, the Smithwicks Cup and the Golfer of the Year. All members are invited to attend.
50 year celebration: The club are holding a special presentation event on Saturday evening next to honour the Pierce Purcell team who won the All Ireland 50 years ago in 1976. The finals were in Tramore and the team captain was Louis Finnerty.
