Last week the President’s (Paula Connaughton) Prize to Ladies took place over two days, Tuesday 23rd and Sunday 28th. The winner was Fen Thompson with a score of 142; 2nd, Annie Timothy, 143; Gross; Sinead Benedetti, 154; 3rd, Mary O’Connor, 143; 4th, Clare Keane, 144; 5th, Marina Dolan, 146; 6th, Margaret Brennan, 146. Day 1 winner, Mary O’Keeffe, 70; Day 2 winner, Kate Walshe, 66.

On Sunday the men’s competition, sponsored by John Corcoran Menswear, was won by James O’Gara with 46 pts; 2nd, Michael McHale, 43 pts; 3rd, Ollie Hannon, 41 pts; Gross, Mario Costello, 36 pts; Junior, Thomas Higgins, 40 pts.

Results of the men’s seniors’ competition: 1st, John Cunningham, 36 pts; Cat 1, Peter Brady, 34 pts; Cat 2, Fr. Joe Fitzgerald, 34 pts; Cat 3, Willie Weldon, 35 pts.

The ladies’ seniors’ competition was won by Nuala Costello, 2nd, Margaret Brennan, 3rd, Detta Cox, 4th, Geraldine Hoban.

The first of the weekly, men’s and ladies’, 9 Hole Stableford qualifying competitions will start on Friday 2nd, June.

Open day continues every Monday with men’s and ladies’ competitions. Entry is €5 for members and €15 for visitors. The Open Competition last week was won by Mark Kearney, 41 pts; 2nd, Cian O’Connor, 39 pts.
