Mr. Tom Grealy Jnr held his prestigious Captains prize competition last weekend. Players took part in what was a very enjoyable weekend of golf with 27 players seeded for the last 9 holes on Sunday evening which added great surprise and intrigue to the competition. Congratulations to Michael Finneran who shot a magnificent score of 94net to become this year’s winner. Congratulations to our Junior Cup team and our Pierce Purcell teams who both won their first-round matches in their respective competions this week. Well done to Junior Cup team Captain Brian Feeley and his panel of Kevin Connaughton, Alan Connaughton, Ian Gannon, Tommie Grealy and Mark Cunniffe. We look forward to their next outing v Portumna in the coming weeks.

Our Pierce Purcell team had a good win against Castlerea GC during the week. Wins for Mark Kearney & James Quigley, Tony McManus & Francie Noone and Roger Hynes and Michael Keane with matches of Denis Smyth and Des Down and Clement McCormack and Michael Finneral called in, Next round against Athlone GC within the next fortnight,

Our President’s Prize (Mens) competition commenced on Sunday with a qualifying round, which saw some great golf and super scores. The draw for the next round is now available on the notice board in the clubhouse. First round matches to be completed by Monday 3rd August.
