Last week the men’s seniors’ competition was by Jim Finn with 21 pts; Cat 1, Tom Farrell, 20 pts; Cat 2, Ollie Hannon, 17 pts; Cat 3, Pat McDonagh, 21 pts. The results of the ladies’ seniors’ competition: 1st, Ann McNally; 2nd, Kay Ruane; 3rd, Bretta McCarthy.

Thanks to all who participated in and contributed to our recent fundraising events. The coffee morning and 3-person scramble events were organised to help fund the Ladies’ Senior Foursomes Team, who will be competing in the All-Ireland finals in Malone on the 28th September. Both fundraising events were a huge success and it was great to see large numbers or members and non-members supporting these events. The results of the 3-person scramble: 1st, L. Maxwell, C. O’Dowd and N. O’Grady, 26; 2nd, C. Brennan, M. Brennan and M. Dolan, 26.2; 3rd, M. Finneran, P. Finneran and M. Madden, 26.4.

We wish our Senior foursomes team of Sinead Benedetti, Mary Lalor, Ruth Lennon, Ciara Ryan, Paula Quinn and Rosemary O’Brien, under the stewardship of Linda Maxwell and Noreen O’Grady, the best of luck in the All-Ireland finals in Malone Golf Club on Thursday 28th. Their first match will be at 11.00 a.m., when they play Lucan Golf club and support on the day would be greatly appreciated.

The machinery fundraising draw will take place at the Clubhouse on next Saturday, 30th September. Members are asked to please return ticket stubs and money before Saturday. Tickets are available at the bar in the Clubhouse in case you have mislaid your tickets or want more. The total prize value for this draw is €750.

The County Cup, sponsored by Roscommon Herald, has been rescheduled to take place on the 14th October 2017 at Ballaghaderreen Golf Club, weather permitting.
